Emily Endo’s practice draws from the interconnected histories of science and mysticism, utilizing materials such as glass, organic media, and aroma molecules to explore the transformative relationships between body, nature and material. Within their work, the visual, cultural, kinesthetic and chemical properties of materials are considered, creating harmonious tension through complementary and contrasting elements. These studies give rise to mythopoetic objects, figures and installations that merge historical and imagined material animacies.

COLLABORATION: While visiting Emily assisted in deconstructing existing fencing to open up the wetlands. They then aided in moving that material to a new fence location. Emily acquired specific soil samples to be tested for a future project here. This information will not only be utilized by Endo, but will also be helpful for understanding the potential for the ecosystem rehabilitation efforts.
